Tinkerlab challenge - Makerspace

This last month we've filled the Tinker space full of up cycled materials. Egg cartons, paper towel rolls, bottle caps, corks, buttons, gems, beads, & many types of random fabrics. The kids have created all kinds inventions. We are finishing off this month with 'Marble Run' challenge. I pinned one paper towel roll as the starting point and then at the bottom of the wall taped an ending point.  The challenge is to get the ball/marble through to the ending tube.

I found it really intersting to listen to the conversation. They realized quickly that they needed to test their structure. They started planning traps & routes. All, so very interesting. This kind of thinking delights my heart!

It was very cool that some Wolf Creek School Division head office staff came to check out & help Tinker around!
